Kemp Porter Buildings is a new hall of residence for first year Imperial students in North Acton.

Comprised of almost 600 bespoke student rooms arranged in cluster flats each with its own kitchen - and complimented by dedicated common room areas and outdoor spaces -  the new community will offer a fantastic environment for first year undergraduate students. Located only a two minute walk from North Acton station (Central Line), Kemp Porter Buildings will enjoy proximity to other student developments across North Acton as well as easy transport links to campus.

Kemp Porter Buildings are named in honour of Professor Helen Kemp Porter, Imperial's first female professor and a leading figure in the field of botany. Professor Kemp Porter undertook groundbreaking research into the metabolic pathways of plants, work for which she was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1956. Professor Kemp Porter was inducted as a Fellow of Imperial College in 1966 and, upon her death in 1987, left a legacy as both a scientific and social pioneer.

Kemp Porter Buildings are due to open in September 2020 and are only available for eligible undergraduate students beginning in academic year 2020/21.
