Imperial College London and Governors for Schools are pleased to invite alumni of the College to an information session on becoming a school governor. The role of a governor offers a fantastic way to continue your professional development and test and develop your skills in a challenging environment whilst making a significant contribution to your local community.
Find out more at an information session on Tuesday 15 October 2019, 12.20 - 13.30 (lunch will be provided). The session will consist of presentations from Imperial's Outreach team and Governors for Schools followed by lunch and an opportunity to ask questions. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Location: All of UK. You decide the time period you are prepared to travel to and from the school. This could be between 30 or 60 minutes, or more on occasion.
Time Commitment: Governors are expected to attend a minimum of six meetings per year. The preparation, participation and travel for these meetings, and training, will comprise four to five hours a month for nine months of the year.
Help the School of Public Health with Dementia Prevention Research
The CHARIOT Register has been organised by the School of Public Health at Imperial College London. It is a list of healthy individuals who would like to be contacted about research studies into the prevention of dementia. Their research aims to better understand dementia; the risks of developing the disease and what factors might protect against it. This will allow them to develop methods for early prediction or prevention.
To join the CHARIOT register you must be 50-85 years old and have no diagnosis of dementia or memory problems.
